Transformative Events
A key part of the Cancer Research Foundation mission statement has us contributing to “Transformative Events” in the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer.
‘Transformative’ conveys a powerful and comprehensive change, and to do that takes hard work, risk, perseverance, innovation and community support. The Cancer Research Foundation funds scientists we believe are working extremely hard, taking risks and pushing through obstacles for the next breakthrough.
Over the last five years, running has been transformative in my life, and part of it has to do with joining the Cancer Research Foundation team. Although I knew it before, I have learned how critical exercise and a healthy diet are to help prevent many types of cancer.

This year, my son and I are shooting for an “ultra-transformation.” We are training for a 50-mile ultramarathon on October 4, 2025. That’s almost double our past marathon runs!
We are stretching our bodies and minds, to push ourselves towards a powerful change, and I’m asking you to stretch this year in your support. Last year, you gave over $10,000 towards cancer research – thank you! This year, I’m asking you to help raise $15,000! I will match $10,000 so we can overall raise $25,000 for cancer research.
Please make a donation today in support of “transformative” cancer research. Thank you!
