How has being a Goldblatt Scholar supported your career in cancer biology?

I am grateful for the support of Goldblatt family during my graduate education. Being a Bernice Goldblatt Scholar allows me to fully dedicate to the exciting research I am doing that likely will bring light to some cancer patients without having to worry about financial problems. I am now in the laboratory of Hans Schreiber, MD, PhD. We are focusing on immunological approaches to treat cancer by targeting a novel class of cancer-specific antigens.

What are your career goals?

Having witnessed my beloved family members suffering from cancer, it has become my mission to advance the understanding and battle against this horrible disease. Upon completion of my doctoral studies, I would like to apply my expertise in cancer biology gained from my time at the University of Chicago to push forward the frontier of research or to establish, develop and foster collaborative relationships between basic research, clinical trials and drug companies.
