Click to Cure 2009
This July, the Cancer Research Foundation teamed up with Dennis Lee Photography on Click to Cure 2009, a day of photography benefiting CRF and the innovative research we fund.
Couples, families, kids, and even dogs from around Chicago made donations to the CRF and were photographed by Mr. Lee, a Chicago-based wedding and fashion photographer noted for his photojournalistic style. Lee sent each person or group home with a CD full of professional studio-quality photos for future family albums, holiday cards and the like.
Participant Adele Green said she loved the event because, while larger events like charity marathons are great, this one appealed more to her tastes. "I only run when chased, so I wanted to do something more intimate and localized. How many times can people go to have their photo taken for fun?" Adele appreciated CRF's dedication to directly funding scientists who are pushing the envelope, "because those are the people on the front lines."
The CRF heartily thanks Dennis Lee for his support and for the delightful pictures he provided to everyone who came.
"Thanks to the hard work, commitment, and compassion of scientists, researchers, and organizations like the Cancer Research Foundation, there is renewed hope for discovering better treatments and eventually a cure for cancer.
I commend all of you for your outstanding contributions to the field of cancer research. For five decades, your commitment to the crusade against cancer has given hope and comfort to people across the nation."
